Liminal Arts Network (LAN) ...

bedgebury pineatum    ... is a new art group, founded by Anthony McIntosh, that began informally in August 2006 and was formalised in early 2008. The focus is on group activity rather than merely exhibiting collectively. Each month they visit a different location and respond to its atmosphere and physicality. The days offer an opportunity to engage with challenging subject matter and experimentation with unfamiliar materials.

A wide range of venues has been visited including Goodwood Sculpture Park, Dungeness, Calais, Newhaven Fort, Borough Market, London and many other sites so far. Other trips are made to major gallery exhibitions. Having a social function as well as a creative one, during the Summer, painting and drawing is usually combined with beach barbecues at sites such as Pett Level and Cooden Beach. In 2009 the group is also planning a city break to Berlin.

Trip to Calais There is no specific criteria for becoming a member of LAN, merely a commitment to engage with the aims of the activity days. The group exhibitions are held approximately twice annually and are often themed. All work in the exhibitions has been created as a result of the activity days, whether actually on site or later developed in the studio.

The criteria for exhibiting with the group is that you must have attended at least six of the previous twelve activity days before the show.

If you would like to be informed of our activities and perhaps join us, please request that your email address be added to our distribution list. If, subsequently, you do not attend any activity days within any six month period, your address will be removed from the list.
